Tatiana Ghannan was never born to hide in the shadows. Tatiana's mother, Dalal, died during childbirth, and so she was raised entirely by her father, Hamad. Hamad was the owner of a successful military-grade weapons sales business, and the money and power that came with his position were passed onto his only child from birth. Tatiana was able to travel the world, learn many languages, educate herself at the best boarding school money could buy- and, most of all, she was taught quickly to never back down from a fight. Talia comamnded the presence of the room from the moment she was born, and her ablity to keep the spotlight never waned.
Though she went to college for a degree in business administration, she was not prepared for the shocking inevitable moment where she was thrust into the highest possible position of power. Tatiana was 25 years old when her father passed, and according to his will, his entire business was left in her less-than-confident hands. Tatiana was shoved into a position she wasn't ready for- though her father was grooming her to take over the business, the pair had been planning for the moment to come decades after it did- not only was Tatiana dealing with the loss of the only parent she had ever known, but now she was silently praying she could keep his legacy from crumbling to dust. There was quite an uproar among the business about the decision- the board of directors were sure that a young girl wasn't capable of keeping up with a complicated and often aggressive business; they feared, and quite loudly, that she would run them into a ground. Tatiana feared the same, but quietly and without letting a single person see her sweat.
Though she wasn't prepared to run a business, she knew exactly who to surround herself with to keep her head above water. In some ways, for the first decade, Tatiana was very much a figurehead- though all decisions had her seal of approval, there was no doubt the final say came through whispers from men with much more knowledge in the area. Tatiana spent every day of her life listening, watching, and storing away what she needed to become the businesswoman she and her father one day hoped she could be.
To say Tatiana's life had been a complicated one would be an understatement. She did her best to keep herself grounded, have relationships, form bonds, and have hobbies. Tatiana hadn't made a lot of friends as a child- she was constantly moving for one reason or another, and never felt grounded enough to make a solid friendship. Her decision to live in Boston for the rest of her life changed things: she became more open to new experiences, happy to get to know others, and was generally much more amenable than she had been as a rather grumpy and curmudgeonly child. Still, there was an aloofness that Tatiana could never quite shake off. While she was friendly, very flirty, and happy to get to know others and ignore her work for a few moments each day, there was an air about her that suggested that she could disappear at any moment, and she might not remember you no matter what kind of impression you'd left on her. Frankly, Tatiana never resented this- it kept people at a distance, kept them from seeing the real her, the chinks in her armor that she worked desperately to keep hidden.
